My life: Living with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) I have something to share to all my friends, I am suffering with a chronic illness like RA, it’s easy to loose hope and get discouraged. This is especially true when suffering with a particularly bad flare for an extended time or when medications don’t seem to be working like they should. Such has been the case for me for the past few months. At times like these it’s critical to reach deep and outside of yourself for hope. I feel disappointed sometimes for those friends who dont even bother to say how are you? or show any gesture of care or concerns.They know I have RA but probably don’t understand all the symptoms. However, I am thankful for those friends whom I consider a real friends who prayed for me and showed concerns in a different way just to give me strength and encouragement. A friend once asked me how I could live with all of the pain and fatigue from RA. My response was sometimes it is hard to handle the pain but the good thing is that with a chronic disease, it doesnt all come at once. And the experiences make you stronger, causing you to dig deeper, and learning to foster hope in something bigger than yourself. Being a Christian, having faith in God, and trusting in his ability to heal can be the best form of arthritis alternative medicine that an individual suffering from this disease or affliction can find. The most important part of spiritual healing lies in praying to God. For a Christian, the individual must pray cleansing prayers for forgiveness followed by thoroughly thanking God for all that has been given and all that is to come. It is very important to understand that God can provide spiritual healing and thank Him for that healing before it is even accomplished. I still feel physically rough and I don’t know what lies ahead. But I know that I can hang onto hope and trust God. For those who are believers, prayer and spirituality can make a difference.
