My life has had a series of really strange coincidences. I was just thinking back to the very first time I ever saw Elton John performing. My mom was so excited when I got off the school bus she came running outside and told me to hurry my booty. Elton was on Oprah... You see since I was a little girl I loved his music and I knew what he looked like from the Vinyl covers but I had never actually seen him in action. He was performing Benny and the Jets. I was delighted that he was singing about ELECTRIC BOOBS. I wanted Electric boobs so BAD! It was not intill today that I realized he was actually singing Electric boots. sigh.... It will always be boobs to me. Did you know that he was the first white musician to appear on Soul Train, with this very funky tune? The times were a changing! I love Elton for his fierce fabulousness, the amazing work he has done with his Aids Foundation, and his bravery coming out and being himself when it was slightly even harder then it is today. SO the coincidence is that 17 years ago tomorrow I saw Elton John on TV for the first time, 17 years later to the day I will be seeing him in the Front row live in person. How magical!
