My lovely (and dangerous) wife unintentionally installed Norton Security Scan on her new Dell compooooter, and (surprise!) the program doesnt include an uninstall function that works. An IT tech friend of hers came over last night and spent a couple hours fixing various issues, but was unable to make any headway with the Art Carney problem. Ive Googled the issue, and found HUNDREDS of folks begging for help with the same uninstall failure... My question is this: is this a deliberate infestation perpetrated by Norton Symantec? Do they surreptitiously design their product to be next to impossible to remove from your computer, hoping customers will give up and decide to use their system, since they cant remove it? If thats the case, why havent they been sued? Norton is like herpes... once youve got a case of it, youve ALWAYS got a case of it.
