My lovely wife thinks I share too much on FACEBOOK .(shes gonna hate this post then)l. This year and especially lately Ive been fighting a lot of internal demons, the type that make people steer into a tree for no apparent reason. My wife and especially my friends and family have been there for me relentlessly. I wasnt feeling the spirit of Christmas this year so I didnt put the ridiculous amount of inflatables all over my yard as I usually do. Then a few days ago a car pulled up and a little boy walked over to me and said Mr. WIlliams when are you putting out your decorations this year? His Mom explained how much he looks forward to them each year and I had to tell him Id broken my arm and was still recovering and couldnt drag the thirty or forty heavy tubs down from my attic, it broke my heart to see the look on his face but he looked at me and said thats ok ,I hope you feel better by next year Mr Williams, merry Christmas. Then last night my second wife (as we jokingly refer to her ). Pam Estes-Gallmetzer hosted her annual Christmas party and dirty Santa gift exchange, Pam is my age with young kids and grandkids and a full time job so Im not sure how she found the energy but thanks god she did. It was an intimate gathering of a few dozen close friends ,each of whom are special to me for different reasons, Im very lucky to still hang out with several friends from high school and weve picked up lots of new friends over the years in this very special group. Chris Gallmetzer is a high school friend who spent dozens of hours recently working on my sons truck and asked for nothing more in return than Thankyou . A rare individual and a good friend for sure. Some times as Im posting on Facebook I never really know if people are paying attention or not , then last night Gina Pickett Lunceford brought me a gift of two Flake bars and English cookies which really warmed my heart . She obviously pays attention. Her and her husband Shawn Lunceford have become really great friends over the last three years but we feel like weve known each other a lifetime. Everyone there last night offered me a warm and genuine hug which meant the world to me. Santa and Mrs Claus made an appearance and if seeing the pure joy on every little kids faces doesnt restore your Christmas spirit I dont know what will. THANKYOU to everyone there last night for the laughs and friendship because even my words can not express how much it means to me. I love you all ! Now I lay here snuggling on a Sunday morning with my exhausted wife and three dogs feeling happy and content in my happy place. One dog is itching his ear , one is snoring and the other is staring at me trying to decide wether or not we are getting up or if she should just pee on the carpet. Merry Christmas everybody From paradise USA.
