My message to Governor McCrory...I have been working in Onslow County for 13 years, have my National Boards and Masters degree in Social Studies. (You even visited my A.P. U.S. History class at Richlands High School the first time you ran for governor.) According to the released budget figures I will receive a $47 per month raise next year. That is $2.35 per day, not even enough to buy a gallon of gas! Losing longevity is adding insult to injury especially when we are the only state employees being targeted for our longevity. Please VETO the Education bill! Tell the GA to bring back fairer legislation.The teacher crisis in NC will only worsen if the assault continues! Not only will you lose the veterans, but teachers at the secondary level who are your best recruiters will stop encouraging the best and brightest to enter education! This is a crime!
