My mind is currently completley boggled with research into mattresses so Im asking you all for help! Noodles doesnt have a bed, well ok he does but its in pieces in the shed. No Im not some wicked mother its for his own safety as he is completley and utterly obsessed with small spaces, this obsession means that Jonah caused himself real injuries by regularly removing his mattress and trying to squeeze himself between the bed slats. Obviously I did as much as I could to try and help with this and removing the bed was a last resort. I tried putting him to sleep in a sleeping bag in the hope the feeling of being enclosed was enough but it wasnt and I even tried strapping the mattress to the bed so it couldnt be removed but that just caused so much frustration that he would lie under the bed and push up against his bed with his feet so his bed would be thrown across the room. So in the end the safest thing to do was get rid of the bed, Ive tried several times since to reintroduce the bed and even swap his bed with his brothers but the same thing always happens so for now atleast its bye bye bed. And I must say he sleeps a lot better with just a mattress on the floor. Its hard to explain (Ill take a pic tomorrow) but noodles room is a funny shape so his mattress fits perfectly in a little nook thus creating a cozy small space hes happy with. But hes getting bigger so his little space needs to grow, so after much thought and measuring Ive decided to get him a small double mattress that should fit nicely in the nook. And I had decided to get him a memory foam mattress as I assumed they were the best but my dad has now thrown a spanner in the works declaring that he hates his memory foam mattress and wishes he had never bought it. So Ive launched into online research and am now bamboozled so is memory foam so bad? Has anyone bought a mattress recently they love? I dont mind how much it costs, sleep is a BIG deal and I just really want him to be comfy so any advice would be much appreciated :)
