My minister (and sister), Renee E. Machiniak, has given me the honor of serving as her recruiter for an awesome fundraiser our church (Church of the Holy City, Royal Oak) is sponsoring: the 30th Royal Oak CROP Hunger Walk. CROP stands for Citizens Responding to Overcome Poverty. Hunger is so painful. Thats why this project is so wonderful! For a small donation we can send a message loud and clear, to ourselves and the world, that we care. We need walkers and sponsors. Walkers get about 95% of their sponsors from their neighborhood, workplace, family & place of worship. 25% of funds raised will feed the homeless right here in Royal Oak. The other 75% benefits those in other countries. There are 2 walks: a 1 mile and a 3.3 mile. Renee, Karen and I are doing the 3.3. The date is Sunday, May 4th. Starting point is the Royal Oak First Presbyterian Church. Registration is at 1 pm & walk starts at 1:30 (rain or shine)! ;) Contact me with any ?s.
