My mom CletanDon Young asked me to post this WARNING for everyone! A couple days ago she almost fell for a scam that would have cost her $2500 with NO WAY OF GETTING IT BACK and NO WAY OF CATCHING THE PEOPLE! She is not the first person i know personally who has gotten caught in this scam. So without giving all the details... she received a phone call from someone in Vegas who convinced her that she needed to send $2500 to bail her grandson out of jail. He said many of the right things - called her by her nickname etc... so she followed the instructions and went to Longs to buy 5 GREEN DOT cards for $500 each. Once she had the card all she needed to do was give them the numbers from the back of the cards and instantly that money would be transferred onto their GREEN DOT Credit card. No turning back the money is gone and the police cant do ANYTHING about it! Fortunately she ended up with a little time while waiting for my cousin to get the cards at longs and she decided to call her grandson - who was at work in another state! Thank God he answered his phone or she would have lost the $$. Moral of the story? If someone calls you and wants you to go to longs, walmart, kmart etc and get a Green dot card or something similar just hang up! ITS A SCAM!!!
