My mom. Her femur broke near the hip joint in August. She had emergency surgery, to repair the break. A plate and two pins. A pin has come loose...not completely, but its shifted. Shes in major pain. And now shes facing another surgery. Probably a complete hip replacement. Right now she cannot walk on her own, even with a walker. She has to have help in and out of bed and to the wheelchair. Shes a diabetic. Morbidly obese. Now has cellulitis in her lower legs, which means they are filling with fluid, and are red. I touched them and they are hard as rocks... Like her legs are going to explode. It breaks my heart and its hard to see. My parents divorced when I was very young, and Im an only child. Im feeling that I need to step in and help my mom make medical decisions. Tonight we discussed a POA. I will drive back to Dayton tomorrow to try and meet with the doctor here at the rehabilitation center. Id greatly appreciate your prayers for my mom and for me. I need wisdom as to what to do and how. I need patience. Extreme patience.
