My mom got gold bond stamps from Super Valu. This is how we got our Christmas presents. I got a purse one time, it was a brown leather purse with a handle. Being from gold bond stamps, the leather was very hard. One cold winter day, I was walking home from school and the leather froze and was hitting against my leg. By the time I got home, I had a big red area on my thigh. I thought, if carrying a purse is going to hurt, forget it. I never used it again. When I got to high school those gold bond stamps made it possible to get a pair of softball cleats so I could play on the softball team. That I loved.
