My mom is sound asleep. Shes fine. Finally a doctor took the pain in her lower abdomen seriously. It was a hernia. We are here over night to see if the doctors manual repair is all that is needed. Each visit she was diagnosed with an UTI but a little more investigation to find the source of the real pain. I wish my mom send of life was more peaceful and that she had the words to describe what was wrong with her. The nurses are amazing. My moms nurse just brought me a recliner to sleep in - they asked me to stay. She just told me about my dad pulling my moms IV out of her hand so she could get up to pee. Apparently there was drama and blood... My dad tries hard but often gets in the way of my moms care. Im being serenaded by the quieter but not so peaceful sounds of a Friday night at the ER: someone crying saying please please stop it hurts; beeps and bells; the nurse asking the women next to us what year it is now and to breathe - I think she just had a stroke; the guy down the hall horking; and my moms deep wheezy kind of breathing. Her whole belly rises and falls like a newborn baby. I wonder if deep body breaths are normal at the beginning and the end. She was agitated when I first arrived and asked me to lie down next to her. We spooned and she fell asleep. Tears for me dont come often about my mom because theres so much drama there doesnt seem to be time to cry. But now with the curtain closed, the lights dimmed, my mom sleeping and me processing this with my words the tears flow
