My morning didnt start out so good so I went down the AA highway to court in Lewis county. I had a great outcome in the reunification of a family and enjoyed seeing so many of my former constituents at the courthouse and at breakfast. It reminded me of why I serve the public and the love I have for my people. My son stopped by the law office after school and I am reminded why I serve the public and yet how good it is to be home. My mother was at the office when I spoke with my daughter on the phone and it was good. My friend Don Rigsby made my day better by his bluegrass and gospel music on the radio and by doing me a favor, like friends do. My friend Bill Lewis stopped me to thank me for helping with the AK Steel bill in the Senate, like friends do. I received a call from a friend who was hurting and I hope that I helped enable her to face her challenge, that I know that she is suited with the armor to be successful. I received an invitation to speak to school children about government, reminding me of why I serve the public. I received an invitation to help with a fundraiser for childrens cancer and it made me realize the insignificance of my bad morning. The Lord has blessed and humbled me today and I am thankful for that intervention.
