My most recent woodworking project. It took: Two -- 4ft x 8ft sheets of 1/4 inch plywood cut into 60 1ft x 1ft squares. Sixty -- 7/8 inch nails to hold together 4 of the squares stacked together. Fifteen -- photocopies of the pattern. One -- can of spray adhesive to temporarily hold the pattern on the top square. One Thousand One Hundred Twenty Five -- The number of holes drilled using a drill press. One Thousand One Hundred Twenty Five -- The number of times I had to insert a scroll saw blade through a hole, secure that blade in the saws clamps, properly tension the blade, make the cut, untension the blade, release the blade from the clamp, remove the blade from the hole as well as the waste pieces. Four Thousand Five Hundred -- The number of scrap pieces removed. One Hundred Twenty -- The number of surfaces carefully hand sanded. One Hundred Twenty -- The number of nails hand trimmed to the correct length [3/16 inch] to fasten on the Sixty triangular hangers. Seventeen -- The number of saw blades used.
