My most special person in my life still today would be my sweet - TopicsExpress

My most special person in my life still today would be my sweet and brave Daddy. My daddy left his family in Kentucky as a young man on August 11, 1943 and willingly gave his life for the United States of America by serving in the U.S. Army. He was in the 322nd Infantry 2nd Battalion. He was sent overseas to New Guinea at the Palau Islands to fight for our country. He was a Truck Driver Light 345 and held a Combat Infantry Badge Rifle MM. On September 18, 1944 my daddy was wounded badly by being hit with shrapnel. He was honorably discharged on February 6, 1946. He was brave and had alot of courage to do what he had to do. According to my uncle, my dad was in heavy combat and is lucky he even made it out alive. Im so thankful for all his achievements and decorations ESPECIALLY the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. But today my Daddys awards far outweigh his military awards. My Dad has awards in Heaven that are everlasting because he knew Jesus as his Savior and served him faithfully. Thank you Lord for allowing me to be the baby daughter of such a wonderful man. I love you Daddy and thank you for giving your life for my freedom. I also am very thankful for a brother who followed in my dads footsteps to serve as well in the Army. So grateful for his sacrifice to help us live free. Thank you Richard B. Clark. I love you too.
