My mother, Ann MacDonald, is doing well. I took care of my Grandmother MacDonald while I studied animation in my mid twenties, and this reminds me of those days. The day after Remembrance Day I went for a run in the river valley and ran up the river valley stairs into my childhood neighborhood of St. Georges Crescent where I visited the Alberta Lieutenant Governors home to see how he is keeping. What a welcoming man and what a beautiful home. We sat and chatted for twenty minutes in his front room. I did not want to take too much of his time as he mentioned he was preparing for back surgery within the coming days. Of course, the Throne Speech at the Alberta Legislature was coming up shortly following his surgery. It sounded as though he was not going to miss much time on account of his back. He is quite a strong man, a General in our military. I did not like to see him so tentative and sore. I was happy I could be of use while helping him up, with an extended arm, out of his chair. My grandmother MacDonald had back pain for many years, I am aware of the what she went through on a daily basis with her back. I do not like to see good people struggling through that kind of relentless pain. I sincerely hope Lieutenant Governor Ethells back is improved now. He told me had the confidence of his doctors, they assured him this surgery would help. Thank you for your time Lieutenant Governor Ethell. It was a pleasure spending some time with you. Thank you mom. Because of you, I had the privilege of growing up in St. Georges Crescent where the Alberta Lieutenant Governors reside behind our old home.
