My mother: call her the kitchen mistress and am gonna call her the Queen of cooking. She can tell you what to cook on stove or gas cooker to get the best result in taste. She can tell you what so and so taste like rubber on gas cooker so its better cooked on stove. She can tell you what to cook using strictly firewood. You dont dare cook things like moi-moi in my house on stove not to talk of gas cooker and in fact every dish has its kind of pot. Not every pot is meant for every dish. She can tell you so and so will do best on non-stick, so and so on tower, so and so on heavy metal pots.... What beats me is the issue of firewood. She can tell you the type of firewood you will use to cook rice is different from the one you will use to cook moi-moi, different from the one you will use to boil water, different from the one you will use to cook cow leg.... Lord, her lectures about cooking are just whoa! So Dont ask me again how I get fat because I think now you know, in my house, one plate can never be enough, you must have extra plate (just as am doing now) especially when mummys in the kitchen. And dont tell me she read food and nutrition, nope, she has been a nurse all her life. Its her passion to do the best and long term experience. May be this is why I love food.
