My mother has neuropathy in her feet and legs that her doctor has to...ld her could be a result from radiation treatment she had for breast cancer in 1996. Physical therapy is the only treatment they have suggested. It has not helped very much and her legs are very painful to touch. Is there any treatment for this? Should she be seeing a specialist instead of a general practioner? She is now getting some shakiness in her hands that her doctor says could be the neuropathy. - Sally Ohle It is very unusual for breast cancer radiation to cause neuropathy. In addition there are many causes for peripheral neuropathy. She should definitely see a neurologist with an interest in this disease to help her sort it out. - Susan Love of the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation
