My mother married at 16, 58 years ago, and had four children by 21; I cant imagine todays 21 yr olds having that responsibility. She lost my 15 month old brother at 19 & then gave birth to my youngest sister at 29...she thought she was way too old to have another child at 29, haha. She supplemented the household income by working in restaurants, completed her GED & went to work for the phone company, worked in the family grocery, started her own business & retired from London City Hall...she has never stopped working even in retirement. She worked when we were kids intermittently but never neglected to care for us. Loyal, faithful, loving & diligent...I need to be more like her!
