My mother sent a note to my third grade teacher at Pierpont in Clarksburg, WV: “My son’s name is James, NOT Jim.” My best lady friend back then Beverley (sic) Brown called me Jimmy. and I loved it. (Best guy buddies were Temple U. Professor Sam Whyte and the late Anthony Policano). In today’s New York POST, 8-14-2013--columnist Cindy Adams refers to me as “James” this way: “Ole West Virginny, Music Producer/writer James Fragale, who’s written about his native West Virginia, now writes about his West Virginia banker/brother in the Huffington Post’s funny “Old! We Hate Old!” Although she was awfully picky, Mama Lou would be pleased. Who knows, she might have liked Cindy Adams AND Arianna Huffington. We’ll never find out. jamesafragale@yahoo.
