My mother was born in Radvyliskis and my father in Kaunas. My sister was born in a displaced persons camp outside of Bamberg (Germany). When they came to the United States in 1949 it was still by the old propeller planes which, at the time though, was considered more progressive than coming to this country on a ship. I am so proud to be the daughter of two people who came to America after having their country robbed from them with a four-year-old little girl in tow (my sister). I was born in Detroit in 1954, my brother in the same city two years later. Two of my parents three children have Masters degrees!
