My...my...How quickly we forget that Hollywood has a dark and relentless agenda for how they want black people to be viewed! Remember when Denzel Washington (although nominated) didnt get an Academy award for Malcom X (the depiction of a national black activist)...but he did get one for Training Day (the depicition of a crooked, violent, swearing, intimidating, drug dealing, money hungry black man - who referenced himself as King Kong - an ape). Now we have this onslaught of black slavery movies (12 years a slave, The Maid, The Butler, Django, Lincoln, etc.) that are being produced just as relentlessly as the beatings adminstered to the black people in them! I can almost guarantee that 12 Years A Slave will win an Oscar...and undoubtedly several academy awards! It appears to me that black subservience is the ONLY way that Hollywood will allow black actors/actress to take a seat at the top! This is a sad reality that I hope 1 day will become a thing of the past. Until then...We must continue to do EVERYTHING we can to show our young black people the true depiction of our black culture is 1 of strength...not inferiority! Be well~
