She thinks departing nine-term MLA Ken Kowalski needs $1,271,600.00 She wants to help longtime PC insider and cabinet minister Ron Liepert to the tune of $348,700.00 She believes that former Premier Ed Stelmach deserves $1,008,100.00 And there are eight other retiring PC MLAs, all of whom are receiving lavish transition allowances. All told, the Redford government is throwing them a $6.7 million retirement party at taxpayers expense. And what about you and your familys future? Well, thats not her problem. Wildrose has stood up against these extravagant payoffs. This spring, we championed Bill 202, which would have cut them by two-thirds. Every single PC MLA in the Legislature voted against it. But we havent given up. If Wildrose wins the next election, we will stop these golden handshakes and bring in other key reforms, such as have MLA salaries set by an independent committee of everyday Albertans, and roll back the 34% pay raises that Redford and the rest of the PC Cabinet gave themselves right after the 2008 election.
