My name is Dr Sheela Nambiar. I own this page TFL I am a medical doctor - an obstetrician and Gynecologist. I am also a certified Fitness & Lifestyle consultant. I use fitness as a form of preventive care to help women PREVENT common ailments like obesity (yes obesity is an ailment), heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, back pain, knee pain, depression etc etc etc which can all be prevented just by including the right fitness schedule in your life. I have been dealing with women for the last 20 years with amazing results as the women who have experienced a change in lifestyle themselves will tell you. It seems too simple right? Just exercise and eat right and you will be healthy? What about all those pills and expensive investigations, hospital admissions, surgery and so on and so on?? Well, of course some diseases do need medical therapy. But many illnesses (like the ones I have mentioned) can be prevented in the first place so they dont need therapy. That is what preventive care means. You CAN lead a healthier life right up to your old age and stay mobile and independent PROVIDED YOU put in the work of exercising and eating healthy throughout your life. It takes effort and time. But both are well worth it as your QUALITY OF LIFE improves considerably. Thats what this page is about. Helping women feel better, fitter, happier and empowered just by taking control of their bodies and claiming responsibility for themselves.
