My name is Lydia and my special talent is losing things. Oh. My. Word. Everything. I can remember specific dates things happened fifteen years ago, phone numbers I dialed one time two months ago, and the last time I said, saw, wore, made, or did almost anything. Off the top of my head, Im currently missing: the drain plug for my kitchen, my insulin pump insertion device, the phone charger my stepdad lent me, Lucys laser light... And Im sure theres more but Im actively looking for those four. I live in 280 square feet. There are NOT many hiding spots! The insertion device is probably most needed and is longest missing. The laser light is the biggest bummer. The cord makes me most annoyed at myself. And the drain stopper... Come on. Seriously. Thats just weird. Really weird. But, wait! You want to know the last date I ate a certain brand of ice cream and what I was wearing? You want my bank account number from ten years ago? How about the day I got my insulin pump? November 28... In the year 2000! I was 12. My appointment was at 9:30 AM. I believe it was a Tuesday. It may give nurses a good laugh when I answer questions about my medical history with this level of accuracy... 25 admissions, and how many procedures and appointments and I have it down to an uncanny degree of detail. I think this is part of what had made them say I know too much or show too much interest, but what the dont know is that I have this degree of precision with nearly everything I know and remember. Its how my brain works. Its neat and probably is one reason Im rarely bored... But it would be a whole heck of a lot more useful to know where in the dickens I stuck the blue insertion device!
