My name is Wasma Imran, I reside in Lahore, and I #SupportMinorityRights. I condemn attacks on not only Palestinians but also on Ahmadis in Gujranwala on 28th July, 2014. It was hard for me today to sit with a young girl - who I never before this day knew- was Ahmadi. It was hard for me to imagine her being afraid of me because I belonged from a different sect in our religion than she did. It made me feel worthless when I saw that I didnt do anything in my city of origin to help the people who suffered this great loss. I had goosebumps as that girl told us she couldnt walk out of her house on Eid for threat of the Muslims in her area. I was ashamed to remember how happy I was on Eid. The News: Three female members of the Ahmadi community, including two minors, were killed late Sunday and eight others were severely injured when an angry mob attacked and burnt five houses, a storage building and several vehicles over alleged blasphemy. Maybe we cant do much for Palestinians sitting in Pakistan, but we can surely let all Ahmadis know that we stand with them, respect them and would do anything to protect their interests in Pakistan. We can also celebrate our national Minority Rights day on the 11th of August, and support the resolution being passed by Bargad Organization for Youth Development on inclusion of minority icons in school curriculum in Pakistan. Im trying to do whatever I can, maybe you should give it a thought too. #SupportMinorityRights #CondemnAttacksOnMinorities #BeHuman
