My name is Γεράσιμος Κεκάτος - My fathers father - TopicsExpress

My name is Γεράσιμος Κεκάτος - My fathers father was Gerasimos Kekatos of Katarahon(?) on Kefalonia, married to Kostoula Katseli of Patras. My mothers father was Theodore Eustathion (Athens shown on his papers as home but hes Thracian) and my mothers mother was Penelope Bilder (Beldiriades) of Saranta Ekklisies now Kırklareli Turkey. I have pretty good records of my grandparents era. Many images and some papers, and some recorded oral history made before my parents passed on. All 4 grandparents arrived in the US between 1915 and 1920, and both couples met and married in the states. Everyone settled on the north-side lake front area of Chicago and attended St George church. There are some family mysteries and intrigue. Theodore Eustathions family name was actually Konstandinides but he changed it well before he emigrated. He was in the Greek Navy in 1912-1913, worked as a merchant marine, and then served in the US Army 1918-1919. Heres Theodore in his Naval training graduation picture, 1912. (They still pose with the carbine and the short sword after graduation.)
