My neighbors are good people......just good overall. But recently my inner being has been struck by the presence of the most beautiful, angelic one year old Ive ever seen. Her name........Lily. She is the daughter of my neighbors son. Usually when children are around me, I watch them. Because I know they can teach you something....Im sure some of you have read my posts on the importance of loving like children. But DAMN her presence is an extremely powerful one........ Lily puts a huge smile to my face every time I see her. Yesterday, she walked over to the dog in their yard and gave a big hug.....shes so small and the dog is so big, yet so much love came pouring out of her to this creature. No one saw her do this....it was a very brief moment with her and the dog. I saw her....and thought, she is filled with love. Sometimes her grandparents will throw bread crums out for the birds and as they fly, shell just stand there, pointing up to them. No words. No sound.....just her small one year old body, sporting black curly hair, pointing to the sky. She is truly heaven in flesh. When I come home from work, sometimes my neighbors will bring her over to me to say hello and her power overwhelms me.....no joke. Ive been around many children and none have had this much impact. Theres something very familiar about her and the calm she displays. Sometimes, Ill hear her cry out in the night.......her cries echo from the parents bedroom to mine. And Ill stop what Im doing so that I can listen......maybe Im mentally preparing for that time when Ill hear my own daughters cries. I guess fatherhood is really bangin on my door. Shell cry and Ill just whisper......I hear you Lily, dont worry, Im here. Haha.....you can tell Im very sensitive when it comes to children. Lily is truly special and you know what......even at a year old..... ......she knows it. ..
