My new bookplate by the acclaimed Romanian heraldic artist and dear friend, Tudor-Radu Tiron. He specializes in capturing the look and feel of a 15th century medieval seal, or sigillum. Here he shows the figure of a mounted knight set for a tournament complete with my coat of arms on his shield, jupon, and the caparison worn by the horse. My crest is shown atop the tilting helm. My faithful Irish wolfhound is depicted running alongside all against a background of alternating Maltese Crosses--referring to my knighthood in the Order of Malta, and shamrocks--honoring my Irish heritage. The Jerusalem cross, the badge of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre, represents my being a Knight Commander in that Order.
