My new boy (rehome) just got over a long bout of intestinal distress. 12 days of flagyl, then lomotil. I will get back to the vet today, but was wondering if anyone had an opinion about this: when he wakes up in the morning, he starts coughing up yellow bile. He also coughs frequently as if he is trying to clear his throat. This started 2 days ago and my vet was closed for the holiday. His diarrhea has pretty much resolved, but this throat clearing and yellow stuff has got me stumped. Maybe too much stomach acid in early AM? He is getting probiotics and pumpkin along with a grain free Merrick chicken and sweet potato. Any ideas would be appreciated. Do love this little boy. Now, two of my other dogs (spoo & Maltese) have caught whatever bacterial infection he had when I got him. What a way to start the new year! I should own stock in paper towels!
