My new job has become feeding my picky 9 year old eater. Making sure he has enough iron, mixed with vitamin C. Pack his meals with everything healthy yet try to convince him it taste good. Im juicing, blending, mixing, vitamins and iron where ever I can. A full time job for the pickiest eater on earth. Any ideas for iron filled foods that your kids like to eat? I feel like a cheer leader, food pusher, veggie hider. I will take all of these jobs any day to have my child back. When your child becomes ill its like your whole family has been in a car wreck. We all are unsure of what to do. All I know is we are doing it differently. Having slumber parties in our room. Celebrating all the little things including eating vegetables. Homework parties. More importantly putting our phones down. No one ever wishes they spent more time online when they are faced with the news that their children may not make it. Feeling like second chances are wake up calls. Make it count. All of it, the little things, the big things, but dont think for one second that tomorrow is promised. All of the busy stuff, the housework, the laundry, the piles. They can wait. No one ever wishes their houses were more clean and organized when they get this kind of news. They wish they spent more time at the park, planned more fun things, made more memories. Had more deep conversations. Held each other more. This is what I I know today. Each moment is one you never get back. Plan things that are more fun on your weekends and time together then your every day routine. Make it count.
