My new old Dream Car. 1996 Dodge Intrepid. The story: On our 15th wedding anniversary, Bev & I went back to the spot of our honeymoon, Cape Cod. I rented a brand new 1996 Dodge Intrepid with just a few hundred miles on it. It was the same color as my new car. We fell in love with it. I told Bev, You know Im getting old when my dream car is a 4-door sedan!. We joked that we would never be able to afford one until it was at least a dozen years old. I found a white one last year with 140K miles on it. It has 180K on it now. Looking for an inexpensive replacement car, I stumbled upon this beauty on Craigslist a few weeks ago. It is pristine inside and out, with only 80K miles on it! Even better, it was only $2,100! Warms my Scottish heart just thinking about it. Its hard to believe that this car is 17 years old. I just HAD to get the Dont Tread On Me license plates for it, too. The aging gearhead in me has all kinds of plans for this puppy: dual exhaust conversion, performance computer chip, etc. Ill sell all that to Bev using the better gas mileage argument :). This has all the excitement of the purchase of my 67 Plymouth Barracuda convertible back in 76. Im having way too much fun here.
