My new years resolution is to stop DJing as much as possible. Throughout 2014 I toyed with different methods of implementing live instruments and looping, and Id like to take that much further this year. I dont mean to put down the art of DJing or the culture that surrounds it, but I simply do not want people to pay money to come watch me compile a playlist of audio files on my laptop. Not to sound pretentious (seriously), but I want to push the envelope on what people assume a live electronic/dance set is going to be like when they go to a show or festival. I want to give people something to watch. I want to add an element of human emotion, difficulty, and the fragility that relying on playing an instrument provides, and avoid the formulaic build up > drop mixing tendencies that have become so habitual for producers to follow. Im excited to develop this into a polished result, and I hope yall are down with the change. Thanks for making last year so incredible, and giving me the motivation and inspiration to go forth so confidently into the next. I love yall.
