My next stop was a great place called Hickory Creek Antiques. I found a gold frame mirror that was just the right size and I was able to negotiate just the right price. So that one will be coming home with me! Im going to remove the nearer and put in a portrait of President Madison or Dolley Madison. It will depend on where it fits the best. I also saw these model boats. I thought one would look really great in the library. That was until I saw the price. These boats wont be sailing home with me tonight. Check out this 1960 color chair! Im not much for the color but the carving on it was absolutely beautiful! It didnt come home with me either. And one booth I found a pair of white urns that I thought would look great on top of our entrance gate posts. They are kind of lacking something on top and Ive been looking for just the right piece to go up there. Also in the same booth was this oval picture of a young child. I tried to negotiate for both of them but didnt get a good enough price to buy them. This visit could be called the tale of two lamps. I need a lamp for the library and I wanted something special. I found these two lamps, one is white marble and the other is alabaster with brass accents. So as I shopped I had the owner call the booth owners to get their best price. I told her to let each of them know that I was looking at two lamps and whoever gave me the best deal, I would buy it. I did get one of them... can you guess which one it is?
