My niece just posted this to Kay Jewelers: I thought Id share Devanie Viaene Shaw BUYER BEWARE: Please reconsider if you are thinking of buying a diamond from here. We purchased my diamond from here and when I sent it into my insurance company to get a personal property insurance quote their gemologists said that the information on the IGI card was greatly exaggerated and Kay basically lied about the quality of my diamond. We then sent it to Kays corporate office for them to evaluate this claim and they had my ring for 3 months with no resolution! It was sitting on someones desk in the fabled diamond department for 2 months without anyone looking at it. Finally when they did examine it, the response was that they refuse to replace it. We finally told them to just send it back because we are pursuing legal action and they sent the ring back in pieces with the diamond out of the setting. The store manager resorted to sending the ring to a local jeweler to fix it and I still don have it back 3 months after we started this journey...Bottom line: they are frauds and dont stand by their brand. Devanie Viaene Shaw I recommend if you have a diamond from Kays that you have it checked by a third party to see if it matches the certified IGI card you got with it. My insurance company indicated that this is not the first time they have seen this issue with Sterling Inc. (Kay) Jewelers.
