My number is 17. 1. I was good friends with my husband for 2 years before we started dating, and we dated for 3 years before we got married. 2. I never had a church wedding, but a small ceremony in my parents home in Georgia. 20 years later, my husband surprised me as an anniversary gift, a Hawaiian style wedding in a church in Maui, for us to renew our vows....and I did not have a clue he was up to this! We now have been married 28 years! 3. I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, but left while I was a toddler. I visit as often as I can! 4. I have 2 Bachelors Degrees. One in Biology and one in Nursing. I was Pre-med and was going to be a Doctor, but after graduating, I decided to look into becoming a researcher. Almost 10 years later, I became a Registered Nurse! No regrets at all! 5. I applied to join the Army in the Army Nurse Corp, but they didnt want me! LOL! Well, really....there were too many of us applying and only 2 slots. I felt that this one girl really needed it more than I did, as her escape from the slum area she lived in in Savannah. I prayed I would not get picked and she would! She did! Yay! 7. I was a tomboy growing up, always trying to keep up with my older brother! Oh.. the stories and adventures I have! 8. I had only a very small amount of female friends growing up. Most of my friends had always been guys. I trusted them more! 9. I was an avid climber. I always was climbing trees! When I was 6 or 7, I climbed up a tall water tower, just because! A neighbor lady saw me and called the police, my mom, and the fire department. Thats how I got down. They refused to let me climb back down, and I was so mad about that. I also got a spanking in front of everyone once I got down. 10. I was always getting into things as a little girl, and averaged about one spanking a day....No joke! These were doosies! All my siblings! 11. I took Chemistry in college 3 times as well as audited the class once because I got a C and then a B+, but I just could not really understand it! 12. I loved taking Math classes so much that I took classes not required for my major. After all the Calculus classes, I was going to take Pascal, but I had to start taking a language, so math was put aside! 13. I love Operas and I am crazy about classical music. This was actually the only music I could listen to that helped me study while I was in College. I have a love for a variety of music genres actually, even country and blue grass! 14. I always wanted 6 children, but I am grateful for the 2 I have been blessed with! 15. I started babysitting for money at the age of 9. I appeared older than I was, and no one ever asked my age. I took every first aid and child safety/CPR for babies class I could find! 16. I have had 2 total knee replacements on the same leg and only 3 years apart. They were for different reasons! 17. I loved taking care of my baby brother Mark, and taking him to the movies with me when we were younger. We never had enough money to get candy and popcorn, just one or the other. One day I came up with the brilliant idea to lie about his age so his ticket would be free. I told him not to speak and he obeyed me completely. We got plenty of treats with the money we saved, and this short lived. Unfortunately, mom wasnt stupid and knew we shouldnt have had all the amount of stuff we had that we were dumb enough to bring home one time. Mark sung like canary and spilled his guts. I was in BIG trouble. You know what I got after that....another spanking and grounded from the movies for a month! Not Mark! He got a treat and pampered! As always! LOL!
