My number is 8 so here are 8 things you may or may not know about me. 1. I am afraid of heights but will when necessary go to any length needed to help someone or something. Give me a fence, a roof, a ladder, or a swinging bridge and Ill be there for you. 2. When I was in grade school I went to schools from Port Angeles, WA to San Pedro, CA. I I went to 6 different schools in the first grade and passed to the second grade on the condition that I do better in the second grade. In one school, I colored the best turkey picture and was rewarded with a stick of gum. I was in heaven for the whole rest of the day. I managed to pass each grade after that but just barely. In Port Angeles, during the 50s, we had one high school, one junior high school and 3 grade schools plus the Catholic school. I attended all schools except the Catholic school. 3. When my brothers and I were in our single digits we had a dog named Peggy. She was a Pekinese Pomeranian and our playmate. Peggy would help us find our Easter eggs, play Hide & Go Seek, and ride my Trike down our driveway. She loved Peanut Butter and begged a bit of our sandwich. We had to leave her with an aunt when we went to California and she was stolen before we got back. I looked for her for many years. 4. At the age of 8 I became a foster child. My brother and I were sent to live in Dry Creek (a burb of Port Angeles) each in separate homes. We were not allowed to see each other except at school. He had a good home and I did not. At his house the lady spoiled all the boys by doing chores for them, cooking wonderful meals and baking cookies, cakes and pies. At my house they made me do the dishes, wash the kitchen floor, feed the pigs, rabbits, and chickens, and clean the cow barn. All the treats were given to the two natural children of the house. When Easter time came and there were only two Easter baskets I called my mother. She told me that she would be out in a short while with the basket that the Easter Bunny had left at her house. Not long after that we went home. 5. I played the cello in Roosevelt Junior High School orchestra. There were 3 of us who rotated between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd chairs. It was the best class I ever attended. 6. At the age of 22 my Uncle Albert Creelman taught me to drive a car even though I did take the Drivers Ed class in high school I had never taken a driving test. I went a whopping speed of 50 mph and I was terrified. He was so cool and collected and never once screamed at me. I miss him. 7. I sold magazine subscriptions, greeting cards, and items I made to earn spending money as a child. Ive worked as a car hop, Telemarketer, bank teller, waitress, clerk typist, and owner/operator of my own business. At the age of 61, after staying at home for 15 years, I was hired for my ability in accounts receivable and because I could read a blueprint. I ended my business career as a collection coordinator for a corporate office. 8. My best moments in life are the births of my beautiful daughters, my wonderful grandchildren, and now my first great granddaughter. My world became a better place to live with them to love. Now its your turn, click like and Ill give you a number. Do let me know if you have already gotten a number!
