My observation: Many women of today desire to have a Boaz but the question is…”How many are willing to be a Ruth?” A mother-in-law could be the best thing that could happen to you even if she is bitter. She is not your competition. You may not understand her bitterness if you do not know their story. How many women today are willing to forsake themselves to be with the mother of the man they claim to love when he is no longer there to witness it? How many women are willing to sacrifice the pedicures and manicures and work diligently to ensure the well-being of their mothers-in-law? How many women would leave Mama and them, the three-story house, the brought and paid for burial plot and our “home” church “It’sUsAgainstTheWorld” Baptist Church to go to a place where she is considered a foreigner? It is obvious what the “Boaz-seeker” is looking for but she may not have a clue as to what would qualify her for a Boaz. Ruth’s diligence was the only resume’ she needed. She made no adjustments as to who she really was in order to capture the attention of anyone, yet she captured the attention of everyone….including the man who would someday change her life as well as the life of Naomi. God saw our faithfulness. There is a distinct difference in lying at the feet of an intoxicated man to show your availability for marriage and lying in bed with an intoxicated man to show you are available for whatever. Many official transactions that take place today ends up with a man losing his shirt and losing everything he needs to survive. In this situation, Boaz lost his shoe and gained everything he needed to survive. God has wonderful things in store for us but we must be where He needs us to be in order to receive it. If you see something that you always knew was intended for you going to someone else…maybe you left the right place vacant for someone else to step in.
