My oldest daughter, as some of you may know, goes to Normal U-High. I always get booster e-mails from the school. As evidenced by the following excerpt from todays booster e-mail, the school is a class act. Makes me proud: #PioneerPride All Intercity High Schools are working together to provide assistance to those affected by the devastating tornado and storms on Sunday. Currently, local school officials in Washington are asking for monetary donations and cases of drinking water. Each Intercity High School will be collecting these donations at their respective schools, or people can bring their donations to the Girls Intercity Basketball Tournament which tips off tonight at 6:00pm at U-High. Donations will be accepted at both the Girls and Boys Intercity Basketball Tournaments for the next two weeks. Updates will be announces when donation needs change as Washington works further through the clean up process. The Intercity Athletic Directors have agreed to donate all proceeds of the Girls Intercity Basketball Tournament this week to the Washington community. Your help and donations in this effort are greatly appreciated. U-High will be providing Washington’s football team with a hot lunch on both Tuesday and Wednesday at ISU. Please drop off any donations for these meals in the U-High Main Office.
