My opponent talks about how the beautiful the mountains are but is voting for mountain top removal. Folks the Smokey Mountains are the most beautiful in the world and are special to me because my heritage started there. My Great Grandpa and my Grandpa owned some of these mountains before they were forced to move to create the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. To think that my opponent wants the mountain tops chopped off to have coal is ridiculous. Part of the reason so many come to Tennessee each year are these beautiful mountains. God made these mountains with His own hands. Once they are destroyed, there will be no others. If its energy we need heres an idea: put solar panels on top of every public building in the state. Its clean, cheap, renewable energy. Plus, we still get to enjoy these beautiful mountains. God may have made us stewards of the land, but a steward doesnt destroy what is in his charge. He protects and nurtures what is placed in his charge. If elected as 11th District State Representative, I will always remember the beautiful mountains of my home and never vote to destroy this God given beautiful area.
