My optimism does not come from not knowing the difficulties and challenges on the road o, it is actually born from a deep understanding of the difficulties married with an enduring faith that we are more than able to conquer them. When I say something is not that hard, what Im actually saying is that it is hard, but we are conquerors...all of us! We are able. We are able to do far more than we think. There are times when we are compelled to try because not trying is not an option. But there are also times when were compelled to dare, because if not us, then who? If you hope or dream of achieving anything for yourself, for your family, for your country, for your continent, dare to choose yourself to be the one to lead that dream. You cannot leave your dream in the hands of others to direct it until they have demonstrated a belief in the same dream and a commitment to make it happen no matter the challenges. My dream is to work towards an Africa where the people who lead African institutions are equipped to lead effectively but also to see an Africa where even if leadership fails, systems exist to save the vulnerable. The first and most important broken African institution is the family! The leaders of the families are the moms and pops. Other broken institutions are schools, churches, government, and businesses. God help us! And may we go together, rather than alone.
