My own personal feelings on the sad events at the GG livery yard to a horse named Kit ......... firstly I want to extend my sympathy & support to the owner of Kit who must be devastated by what has happened to her beautiful mare.............. secondly a lot of us are slating the RSPCA for not bringing a prosecution against the livery Yard Owner for his cruel act. Upon reflection I think that the Police are the right people to investigate this case as I believe they & the CPS should in ALL welfare/cruelty cases. The RSPCA should concentrate on relieving animal suffering, gathering evidence & passing it on to the Police as they go. What concerns me about this event is that the RSPCA felt it was an appropriate place to leave rescued ponies & horses, I have no personal knowledge of the yard but posts/comments from people in the area & who used the livery yard show this is not the first time he has stepped over the line, he apparently shot his daughters 2 ponies because they werent interested in them anymore, he is also reported to have smashed someones car up a wall with the JCB over a dispute, his temper is common knowledge it seems, of course this is hearsay & people often say things after the event but there is no smoke without fire............ So who at the RSPCA made that crucial decision to leave horses in his care & how did they arrive at it? was anyone qualified consulted, a Vet maybe or someone with equine knowledge, local horse owners ....... I think that is the question members of this page should be asking the RSPCA in the hope they will be a little more careful where they board equines that have already been through enough Trauma, At least they have done the right thing & moved them to a safer place this time !!
