My own personal thoughts on FREEDOM OF SPIRIT. The one thing - TopicsExpress

My own personal thoughts on FREEDOM OF SPIRIT. The one thing all outward expressions of art have in common is this: the open-hearted risk of exposure to the full spectrum of taste, of preference, of resonance. This is freedom of creative spirit. If there was no freedom of spirit, we would have no films to watch, no music to hear, no comedians to laugh at. Freedom of spirit allows a willingness to create something and put it out there with full risk of ridicule, of judgment, of misunderstanding. I am free. Ill belt out raw untrained vocals with no fear of anyone sniggering in the background. Ill improvise some piano music with no fear of derision at the imperfections. And Ill dance like a monkey to celebrate a Friday. And in this freedom lies great happiness, once you can get over the giving-a-damn about others personal tastes about it. Because for every bit of niche art thats original and uniquely you, theres always someone out there with equally niche tastes or who simply enjoys the creativity of it. Play to that audience, your audience, and the pleasure it gives others will be yours in reflection. I am free, and I am happy. Be free!
