My pain started in1992 I was 32, I am pretty sure what triggered the Crohns for me was stress i was working full time, studying for my masters degree and teaching 2 evenings a week to supplement my income. It took three and half years to diagnose it in that time i have been to hell and back dozens of times, was hospitalised over 20 times. Finally I had an operation and i was told i will have to have a stoma bag. I remember when i came around from the op the first thing i did was feel my tummy to see if they fitted the bag, thankfully they decided not to, life was rubbish for few years and I then started on Mesalazine for several years and I was just about managing. 4 years later I started with psoriasis and I was told it was due to Crohns in 2009 I went from reasonably fit person into needing a walking stick caused by Psoriatic arthritis again immune system disease strikes again so i started on Methotrexate a year later no improvement at all and it was time for anti TNF treatment so i was prescribed Humera injection and this was a life saver for me despite all three immune system diseases that i have. I have been with the same consultant for 19 years and not once he acknowledged the fatigue I suffer my GP put me on B12 injection every 8 weeks and it helps little bit but I find that i need a nap during the day just to recover and gather some strength in order to keep going which is not possible when you work full time.
