My pastor, The Rev. Mr. John Baker; Melissa Baker, his wife; Laura Woods; and I attended the Annual Meeting of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina at the Koury Center in Greensboro November 10-12, 2013 Sunday night, November 10, and until midafternoon on Monday the four of us attended the Pastors Conference held in a local church. We heard some really outstanding sermons at this conference. The actual annual meeting of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina at the Koury Center in Greensboro started after dinner on Monday and continued until about 9:30 p. m. on Tuesday. We stayed at the Sheraton Hotel which is a part of the Koury Center. It is great to have your meetings and have your room without even having to go outside. I saw a number of my friends from times past. This was the first time I had seen The Rev. Mr. Buddy Freeman and Frank White in years. It is wonderful how friendships last through the years whether you get to see the other persons often or not. I always enjoy hearing our Executive Director, Milton Hollifield, speak. A real treat was getting to hear on Tuesday night the sermon by the President of the Southern Baptist Convention, The Rev. Fred Luter, Jr. Even to say that he is high voltage is still to express an understatement. I am so grateful to Green Hill Baptist Church for sending the four of us to Greensboro to serve at voting messenger from our church. Bob Morgan--November 16, 2013
