My personal experience has been that my commitment to my family being financially stable dictated as to when I (or shall I say we as a family) took that leap of faith to pursue my art. The pieces just fell in place when the time came to do so. Normas illness has been a curveball, but on the positive side of that, we were able to provide her as much care as possible and allow her to stay home rather than go into a nursing home. There is no doubt in my mind things would have been a lot different if I had still been working at Verizon. Am I any happier than I was when I was working for someone else? Most days my answer is a resounding YES. As much as I enjoy time alone, I do have issues with feeling isolated sometimes.
