My personal opinion, NCAA should have never allowed the opportunity for a freshman to win the Heisman trophy. Regardless of how impressive theyve played or how many records theyve broken, freshman (true or red shirted) have proven that they dont possess the maturity to represent such a prestigious, honorable award (Johnny Manziel & Jameis Winston). Theyve created somewhat of stigma now for any future freshman winners (i.e., arrests, partying, substance abuse, etc...). NCAA, its time to reavaluat the criteria for future winners! This award represents more than just the most outstanding player, youve became a member a highly regarded and distinguished group of men. How you carry yourself (character) outside of football is as essential as how well you perform on the field. Youre the face of the future, act it! Im done.
