My poetry book introduction: I grew up in a small car - TopicsExpress

My poetry book introduction: I grew up in a small car manufacturing town in South Africa. My family packet the bank notes in envelopes on their double bed. If someone snored we were all awake at night. At 12 I wrote a poem about my mom that made my teacher cry. I studied, worked and married. Changed husbands and careers and birthed 2 boys after 6 pregnancies. I found myself 40 and lost. My life absorbed me. After a dream flying over the Ubarumba river I went on a vision quest to Peru. No prior writing history before 2010 of this depth of creativity could prepare me for this creative writing. My focus was set on finding me inside and out. When I saw me it was as if God saw me too. And thru me came this inspired writings as if to guide my every innermost thought to be birthed into this world and what flowed through my personality to my pen become my creative contribution. It was not immediate for me to understand its subdues and hidden messages. It was weeks and sometimes months until the meaning landed. Until one day a literary university teacher said to me: we are either poets or interpreter of poems, that I understood just how special my poems were to me. I dont know if they will have meaning for you. What I do know is that between the lines run a certain frequency... The beat of my heart while I searched for my soul on the other side of the world. The value it holds for you to be delighted by its sheer existence is up to you.
