My politics tend to skew leftwards. So, naturally enough, so do those of most of my FB friends. We all Like each other’s leftist postings, and make agreeably leftist Comments on them – so we might start assuming that EVERYBODY feels this way. But if you ever start exploring conservative FB pages, you’ll find all of THEM Liking each other’s postings and agreeing in Comments, and maybe thinking everybody agrees with THEM. Well, I figure it’s the same with tumors. All the time I’ve had this disease, everybody’s been so kind and encouraging, and I haven’t heard from one single person who wanted the tumors to win! But if tumors had their own FB pages, it would be a whole different story. “My family and I have just moved into the internal organs of this Lazarus guy, and it’s nice and dark and warm and wet here, ideal conditions, but now we’re starting to hear rumors about surgeons and doctors.” And other tumors weigh in, saying, “Think positive! Meditate! You’ll get through this! I knew a tumor who was given three weeks to live, and that was four weeks ago!” and so on. And right now, they’re writing elegies on FB for the tumors my doctors took out, examined and killed. I agree: rest in peace, O Tumors, and don’t come back.
