My post earlier today was about as raw and naked as i have ever been.I am sharing my private and intimate world in hopes that we do not treat Amandas suicide as a news cycle and just carry on business as usual and go through it again when some other artist or poet or dancer or musician dies and we are all still in the same place and learn nothing from this plague of tragedies in our creative community. Erin Kline has given me over a dozen journal articles on bereavement grief and suicide. I am meeting with Shawna Mouser trying to figure out effective ways we can support one another in our community. I share the deepest bowels of my psyche in hopes it is helpful to others and maybe all grow. People like Bucky Rea and Jason Nodler have spoken openly about the S word Facebook blocked a private message to Amandas sister as we both try to support one another because the word Suicide is blocked. We are hiding and shaming...Facebook is a happy place kids and advertisers are its money stream.Your private messages are not private.Keywords are noted and used for target advertising. So you say suicide and start seeing ads for hand guns and secanol or trips to San Francisco to visit the Golden Gate Bridge next to your news feed that would naturally offend you. I just want to try and open up a conversation that is scary and painful...but we are grown ups and obviously need to do a little more for our friends who are in pain
