My post-election resolution: to focus more on ways to bring people together instead of always focusing on the things that separate us. As much as I reject right-wing ideology, I do believe that *most* people - not all, but most - want the same things in this world that I do: peace, love, material security, the opportunity to pursue our interests and passions, a sense that were creating a better world for our children and grandchildren. Im sure there will still be plenty of things Im angry about, and Im sure Ill continue doing rants and raves and calling out ignorance and banality when I see it, but I also think its time to change up the narrative. Simply pointing out what they are doing wrong is not enough; I have to start talking more about what my ideology has to offer, what benefit it brings to people regardless of their own position on the political spectrum. Well see how it goes.
